SESSION 1 – IMO, BIMCO, INTERTANKO, INTERCARGO our voice WORLDWIDE:

The Hellenic Maritime Community is represented in all international organizations and fora by compatriots elected to the presidential chairs. Does this mean that Greek Shipping’s voice is loud and powerful? Is its viewpoint clear, firm, unanimous and unequivocal? Leadership can be defined as a process of influencing. Is Greek leadership effective in the development of the international regulatory framework that shipping operates? Is Greek Shipping steering decision-making?

SESSION 2 – New Environmental regulations and impact on shipping:

Are we are becoming merely managers of regulations? Were the new regulations so indispensable? The 2020 IMO Fuel Sulphur Regulation: is it too soon? Is International Shipping ready to comply? Is Greek Shipping ready to comply? Can or must Shipping reduce its ecological footprint? Big Data, Innovation, digitalization and IOT: the threat of cyberattacks is growing. Are we adapting and evolving our practices along with the danger? Green Environmental Legislation: which other compliance regulations may be mandated?

SESSION 3 – Hellenic Shipping is leading for decades, but are we prepared for the future?:  

Hellenic Shipping has been among the leaders in ship-management and ship-operation. What are the ingredients of this success? Given that the number of Greek officers at sea declines, how will shipmanaging offices be manned without seagoing expertise, and how will Greek shipping look in 10 years from now? Is it the end of the (Greek Shipping) World, as we know it? Are we ready for the future? What are we doing to change it?
